The fact that U.S. President, Barack Obama has mentioned about apricot while talking
full membership of European Union, has greatly gotten Malatya's producers pleased growing 80%. Apricots of the World. The President of Malatya Commodity Exchange, Mr.Mehmet T. Kalaycioglu stated thatapricot exporters of Malatya have been exporting to 84 countries. The United States is our very good buyer. we, as Malatya suppliers have exported 70,738 tonnes between 1 Augut 2008-31.March 2009, inputting US$231 millions 258 thousands. He said we have been realizing the most amount of exportation to the U.S. As the most important producer, Mr. Kalaycioglu who stated that they wanted to become more pronounced in global trading of apricot has said " We have difficulties to balance supply and demand" we have received the cetificate of Geographical Marking. By the European Union, We have aqpplied to similiar patent for Malatya's Apricot. ıf we owe this certificate word of Mr. Obama will completely take place and MalatyaT Apricot shall take a confirmation prior to Turkey is accepted into EU.We kindly thank Mr. Obama due to Obama's statement on Apricot

It is Announced from Malatya Apricot Market. 18.02.2009 dated and 5838 numbered Law on Making Changes to Some Laws, replicated was published in the Official Gazette dated 28.02.2009.
